Arkadi Zaides

What position can an Israeli artist take towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? Working with material filmed by the Palestinian volunteers of the B’Tselem Camera Project, dancer and choreographer Arkadi Zaides draws attention to the bodies of Israelis, as they are captured on film. The Palestinians remain behind the camera. Zaides extracts and appropriates gestures and voices, reframing the issues of participation and responsibility, and transforming his body into a living archive.
